Inverness Lakes Awarded 2017 Assisted Living Community of the Year

The Indiana Assisted Living Association (“INALA”) honored North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes of Fort Wayne, Indiana as the Indiana Assisted Living Community of the Year during its 2017 annual Fall Conference and awards luncheon in Indianapolis.  This is the second time INALA extended this type of recognition to an Indiana assisted living community.

Criteria for this prestigious award include encouraging resident and community engagement, supporting the local community, developing unique programs to improve resident and staff satisfaction and offering a nurturing environment to enhance the quality of life for residents, to name a few.

Liz Carroll, Executive Director of INALA said, “North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes exemplifies the teamwork, innovation and commitment to excellence that defines our membership.  INALA is happy to honor North Woods Village as the Assisted Living Community of the Year award for 2017 in recognition of their exemplary care and community involvement for the betterment of those residents and their families afflicted by Alzheimer’s and other memory impairments.”

“We are flattered to have been awarded the assisted living community of the year by INALA. I’m extremely grateful for our caring team that guide and inspire the lives of our residents each day,” said Dane Slabaugh owner and managing partner of North Woods Village.

This sentiment was echoed by Tim Nix, Executive Director of North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes, “Words can’t express the gratitude our community feels for receiving such a prestigious award.  This is a true reflection of the staff’s dedication and commitment shown to our “NEW DIRECTIONS”® program of guiding, caring, and inspiring those individuals living with dementia or other memory impairments.  Without such employees, none of this would be possible!”

INALA’s mission is to promote the interests of the assisted living industry in Indiana and to enhance the quality of life for the population it serves.  Indiana assisted living communities were nominated by their peers and supervisors for this award and were voted on by the INALA Board of Directors. INALA is headquartered in Indianapolis.
