North Woods Village Awarded 2018 Small Business of the Year

“The South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce has recognized North Woods Village at Edison Lakes with the prestigious 2018 Salute to Business – Small Business of the Year award, presented by Kruggel Lawton CPAs.  The Small Business of the Year award is given to a small business demonstrating leadership, innovation, economic growth and capital investment.

North Woods Village was the first assisted living community in the greater Michiana area to provide a singular focus in memory care.

Those with memory impairment, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, have very unique and specialized needs. They require and deserve an exceptional level of care. North Woods Village memory care assisted living community meets those very unique needs by delivering individualized and resident-centered care, an engaging lifestyle that emphasizes ability and promotes success, and dignified support to help individuals live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

The staff at North Woods Village also understands that memory impairment affects more than just the people who have it, impacting families as well—spouses, adult children, grandchildren and siblings. It is also their mission to be a resource for those families they serve by offering education, information and guidance to help the families understand what their loved ones are experiencing, help them cope with the disease and to discover ways to enjoy the time they have together.

While North Woods Village opened their doors in February 2014, they were able to establish and maintain a 90% plus occupancy within two years. Their excellent service is frequently recognized, as exemplified by receiving awards from both Great Lakes Hospice and Caring.com.

North Woods Village reaches out to the greater community with supportive education and resources for those wanting to learn more about memory care. In addition, they co-partner with the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Dementia Services to fundraise and promote education.
