North Woods Village at Edison Lakes, Michiana’s premier dedicated Memory Care Assisted Living community, is seeking an Executive Chef/Director of Dining Services. At North Woods Village, having a passion for serving those with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia is the most important quality for our team. A high-level of commitment helps distinguish our senior living community from others and ensures the best living experience for our residents and their families.
The Executive Chef is responsible for management of the entire Dining Services operation including managing all food service functions within the community, providing direction and coordination of all employees, developing and adhering to capital and operating budgets. The Director shall develop and maintain operational standards and departmental policies and procedures in compliance with applicable regulatory and code requirements. The Director formulates and carries out goals and objectives for the department, represents the department in appropriate meetings and communicates departmental concerns to administration.
Handles minor discipline and reports all discipline problems to the Executive Director (“ED”) for further action. Initiates accident forms for residents and associates. Is Responsible for the scheduling and training of all dining room and special event staffing.
Maintains high quality standards in regards to food production and preparation, sanitation and safety, and expediency of food lines. Requires two to four years’ experience in food service operations with an emphasis on dining experience and culinary expertise.
Must have 2 years experience in food service management and Sanitation Certificate. 4-5 years management experience in an institutional setting and Bachelor Degree in hotel/restaurant management or food and nutrition or equivalent experience preferred.
