Deejra Lee
Deejra has been in the healthcare field for over 10 years, 7 years specifically in memory care. She has gained a vast amount of experience working her way from the ground up within the long-term care setting. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and won the INALA Leader Under 40 Award. Deejra enjoys sports and spending time with her three children and husband.
Director of Wellness
Me-Me Washington, LPN
Demetria, better known as Me-Me, started her career as a Certified Medical Assistant before becoming a radiographer in podiatric care. She fell in love with helping people, especially with geriatrics, which lead her to pursuing her dream of becoming a Nursing. Me-Me’s varied prior experiences in the health care field and her self-disciple, help her relate to her team members and provide compassionate leadership and care. She is able to coach and mold individual staff members to work better within a team framework. Me-Me has three amazing children, one girl and two boys. She loves spending time with them, but also enjoys reading, cooking, and singing. She loves the color pink and is a self-identified Starbucks junkie.
Community Relations Director
Cristy Kaniewski
Cristy has been a resident of Michiana her whole life and has exemplified excellence in customer service through her many years of financial and insurance sales. While she is skilled in risk assessment, Cristy is also a compassionate and service-driven sales counselor, ready to help not only our residents but their families and caregivers too. Cristy is a certified Alzheimer's and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana Support Group Facilitator and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. In her spare time, Cristy enjoys traveling, boating, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family.
Dining Services Director
Corina DeLaruelle
Corina has over 17 years of varied experience in the food service industry working in a local bakery to cooking in hotels and country clubs. She found her true passion in cooking for seniors in the healthcare industry over ten years ago. Corina has worked her way up from a cook to an experienced Executive Chef focusing on delicious, well-balanced, and nutritious meals geared especially for seniors and their healthcare needs. She loves building strong relationships with her staff and residents.
Environmental Services Director
Henry Borr
Henry has 8 years of experience in healthcare plant operations. His expertise encompasses everything within the environmental services and maintenance realm. He is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and helps us to keep our building looking fresh and running smoothly. We are fortunate to have him with us at NWV.
Business Office Director
Stephanie Zagar
Stephanie has over 20 years of business office management experience in both the healthcare and real estate industries. With a fervent passion for training, teaching and mentoring others, Stephanie is committed to helping others achieve their fullest potential and loves seeing everyone succeed. Stephanie enjoys spending quality time with family and her beloved cats. She finds joy in crafting, exploring farmers markets, sitting on the beach with a good book, and nurturing her flower gardens.
