FDA Approves Leqembi: First Alzheimer’s Drug to Slow Disease Progression – What you need to know!

A new drug shown to help slow the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease, Leqembi, from drugmakers Eisai and Biogen, received accelerated approval by the FDA based on evidence that it clears amyloid plaque build-ups in the brain that are associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. Now, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said that it will expand coverage of the drug, broadening access for people with early forms of the disease and making it more accessible.
