Pain and Dementia: How to Identify Pain When Communication is Limited
May 22 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Presented by: Patty Piechocki, CTRS, QMCP – Manager of Programming & Continuing Education – Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana
Pain is real – even when words are out of reach. For individuals living with dementia, the ability to express pain often fades. As a result, their discomfort can be overlooked or misunderstood. How can we truly know when our loved ones are hurting? In this session, Caregivers will learn how to recognize the subtle, non-verbal signs of pain, understand behavior changes that may signal distress, and gather the critical information physicians need to provide effective care. Together, we’ll bridge the communication gap and ensure that no pain goes unnoticed.
Space is limited for this complimentary event. Please RSVP by May 21 by calling 574-247-1866 or fill out the form below.
