Edison Lakes Director of Health and Wellness Receives National Recognition

North Woods Village at Edison Lakes is excited to announce that Tiffany Fultz, LPN, Director of Health and Wellness has successfully earned her national certification as a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer CADDCT adding to her Certified Dementia Practitioner (CPD) certification.

North Woods Village at Edison Lakes is committed to advancing Alzheimer’s and Dementia care in Michiana. Ms. Fultz’s specialized, and advanced training helps to ensure North Woods Village’s residents and families receive the very best Alzheimer’s and Dementia care available. The national standards in place at North Woods Village go well above and beyond the minimum state requirements regarding dementia practice.

“Ensuring an informed and effective Dementia workforce here at North Woods Village is our goal. Becoming a CDP/CADDCT enhanced my knowledge and skills. This certification allows me to train our staff to achieve Certified Dementia Practitioner Status. This give them the skill set and techniques to provide our residents with the highest level, individualized care they deserve” Fultz stated.

The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer certification is an earned credential recognizing that the highest standard in Alzheimer’s and Dementia education has been achieved. Key aspects of this training include communication techniques, disruptive behaviors intervention, tools for addressing meandering, aggressive behaviors, poor nutrition and sexuality. CADDCT’s work to enhance and train staff in the use of new methods, theories and tools related to Alzheimer’s and Dementia care practices.
