Fundraising for a Cause: Thank You for Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association
In our ongoing commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, North Woods Village embarked on fundraising initiatives aimed at supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This cause is particularly close to our hearts, as we recognize the profound impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals, families, and communities.
Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease is not just a medical condition; it’s a journey that affects millions of people worldwide. With over 6 million Americans living with the disease, the need for research, support, and advocacy is more critical than ever. The Alzheimer’s Association is at the forefront of this fight, providing resources for caregivers, funding research, and raising awareness.
Our Fundraising Initiatives
This year, we set ambitious goals for our fundraising efforts, aiming to raise $1,000. Here are some of the key initiatives we’ve launched: Raffle at the Whitelakes Shootout: We raffled off a golf bag and accessories at the Whitelakes Shootout which took place at the Kalamazoo Country Club. The event not only raised awareness of North Woods Village and what we do for those with Alzheimer’s but also generated $420, all of which went directly to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Fundraising Frenzy & Corporate Partnership: Collaborating with Globe Life Smith Agency and The Alzheimer’s Association, we put on a networking mixer where we raffled off a 56″ 4K LED Roku TV. We rapidly sold raffle tickets throughout this two-hour event and exceeded our goal, raising $640. What’s even more wonderful is that the winner of the TV was none other than Nicole Hourani, Program Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter! Nicole is a familiar face to North Woods Village and is the main presenter at our monthly educational programs.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s: North Woods Village was once again a route sponsor as well as participant in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, uniting with others in our community to raise funds and awareness. Through the aforementioned events, donations, and team participation, we raised a total of $1,060! With this level of donation, North Woods Village joined the Champions Club and proudly wore the awarded medal as well as held the yellow flower during the ceremony preceding the walk where we were publicly recognized for our efforts in caring for those with Alzheimer’s.
The Impact of Our Contributions
Every dollar raised makes a difference. Funds from our initiative support the Alzheimer’s Association in
various ways:
- Research Funding: Accelerating critical research to find treatments and ultimately a cure for
Alzheimer’s disease. - Caregiver Support: Providing resources and training for caregivers, ensuring they have the
support they need to care for their loved ones. - Community Awareness: Educating the public about Alzheimer’s disease and reducing the stigma
surrounding it.
Our fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer’s Association not only support vital research and services but also bring our community together for a common cause. Thank you to everyone who has participated, donated, and advocated for this important issue. With your support, we can continue to push for progress and hope for those affected by this devastating disease!
