North Woods Village Communities Honored as a 2021 Top Memory Care Provider

North Woods Village is proud to announce that two of their memory care assisted living communities have been honored as a SeniorAdvisor.com Best of Senior Living 2021 award winner by A Place for Mom, Inc. the largest senior living referral service in North America. The communities are recognized as among the best memory care assisted living communities across the nation. North Woods Village at Edison Lakes located in Mishawaka, Indiana and North Woods Village of Kalamazoo located in Kalamazoo, Michigan received this prestigious award which places them among the best of the best of in-home care, assisted living, and other senior living providers. This was determined by the reviews of seniors and their families on SeniorAdvisor.com, the nation’s largest ratings and reviews site for senior care and services. This exclusive designation honors only the top 2-3% of senior care providers across the United States and Canada.
This year has been tough for so many senior living communities, however, the North Woods Village communities have shown their resilience in the face of this challenge. Many of the top reviews for the communities shared what kept families and their loved ones feeling not only safe and less isolated, but also stimulated both mentally and physically. From socially distanced entertainment, birthday parades and events, easily accessible video calls with family, to having staff be there to engage with residents and caregivers when they are needed most, North Woods Village was deemed to have provided the best in care and resident and family support.
“Team work really does make the dream work,” Deejra Lee, Executive Director explains. “For over a year we have worked continuously on new ideas, approaches, and techniques to make sure we are providing not only the best care to our residents but keeping our community and families safe. It has taken a full team effort to be able to pull this off. Not one employee is excluded when it comes to our efforts to being the top provider of memory care. Our goal is to continue to educate our staff on ways to keep our residents happier, healthier and safer for longer within our community.”
Locally owned and operated, North Woods Village communities are purposefully designed and programmed to serve people suffering from memory issues and to support their families. In addition, each staff member receives extensive ongoing specialized training in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Among North Woods Village staff there are Certified Dementia Practitioners, Virtual Dementia Tour Facilitators, Senior Living Advisors, Memory Care Professionals, and Professionals in Healthcare Quality.
