North Woods Village in Mishawaka, IN, Wins Prestigious 2018 Assisted Living Community of the Year!
North Woods Village at Edison Lakes, the first assisted living memory care community in the greater Michiana area, was awarded the 2018 Assisted Living Community of the Year by the Indiana Assisted Living Association (INALA) for outstanding care and service. “I am pleased to recognize a community that delivers such a high quality of care in an elevating and inspiring environment.” stated Liz Carrol, Executive Director of INALA.
Those with memory impairment have unique and specialized needs. They require and deserve an exceptional level of care. According to Martin Lebbin, Executive Director, “North Woods Village uses its specially developed program, “New Directions”® providing individualized and resident-centered care. Focusing on engaging lifestyles that emphasize our residents’ ability, promotes success, and dignified support to help individuals live as independently as possible.”

Locally owned and operated, North Woods Village was purposefully designed and built from the ground up to serve residents suffering from memory issues and to support their families. In addition, each staff member receives extensive ongoing specialized training in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Amongst North Woods Village management there are Certified: Virtual Dementia Tour Facilitators, Senior Living Advisor, Memory Care Professional, and Professional in Healthcare Quality.
